In 2005, we, Robert Dijckmeester en Margreet Hagdorn, found our dreamhouse in Zaandijk. Still every day we marvel at this amazing house and its surroundings, amidst beautiful nature and yet so very close to Amsterdam center. We wanted to share this beauty so we started B&B River Garden end of 2010.

Before, we lived in Amsterdam for more then 16 years. We know the city very well and love to share our knowledge and special adresses wit you.

We love to travel, especcially in Asia. The beauty and care for details in the Far East, has been a true inspiration while decorating our house and the B&B. But above all we hope to welcome you with as much hospitality as we have always experienced in Asia ourselves.

Margreet worked freelance as a chief (fashion) editor for several magazines. Now she is back to her old passion, design & decoration. Making simple things beautiful is what she likes most.

Robert is involved in developing an area in Amsterdam called Zuid Oost, aka Bijlmer.
